I think it's better to have one bug-free-as-possible, sane, ANSI-compatible but perhaps with extensions, terminal emulator for wscons and for its online documentation to include tested and complete TERMCAP and TERMINFO definitions for those who need to use its capabilities on any remote system. Further, if sshd allows $TERM to be set by the client, then perhaps it could also allow $TERMCAP to be set by the client as well? -- Greg A.
