Modified Files: src/sbin/sysctl: sysctl.8 sysctl.c Log Message: Don't print an error with sysctl -w name?=value if name does not exist. Should be pulled up to 5.0i think it's better to use something which does not have a special meaning for shells.Maybe a switch? (-Q)That is too wide a brush. It will stop warning on all variables in the file.
Maybe instead of "-Q" (presumably for quiet) we could use sysctl -C -w name=value where "-C" means "conditionally"?Or -E for "it it Exists" ? (Or maybe, for consistency with things like rm, we could use "-f"?)
