Certainly not, but the issue at hand is solely a question of
convention, as there is no ultimate argument on either side, and
you will certainly recognize that the overwhelming majority uses
the convention that Joerg favors.
I mean, I never hear anyone ask "Do you consider 0 and 1 prime?"
at any talk, seminar or lecture when the speaker says "Let p be a
prime.", or do you?
However:
