IMHO, anything that expect powerd(8) to react to an event is a potential
power backend, even when the script is a NOP. In this case, sparc64
should register one (even a trivial name, like "sparc64").
powerd(8) isn't started in the default config, unless you configure it
explicitly. As such, it's not really used expect by a minority that
knows about it.
