I vote to keep it too. I don't think anyone is arguing for removing it
without a viable replacement.

Yes, except for the shared libraries issue I explained. I am inclined to
keep it too. In fact, I am planning to import -P1 RSN and work on some
RCSID lossage I missed.

right, I am not planning to remove the source; it is a only handful of files
compared to the rest of the monster.
