This recipe to join them will only work up to kern.argmax argument
total bytes of file names, that is, for a value of 262144 and
minimal filenames (xaa ...)
length files bytes used bytes left filenames

To fully use the third level (again, with the minimal prefix) we
need argmax=3619200.
