Using the 940319 binaries, I get "warning: RRS relocation" messages when
I try to link something with Xlib.

I don't get these messages for libraries updated with the 940319 release,
but I do for Xlib.  The application appears to run just fine.

However, if I really do have an undefined symbol, then the error message
to that effect will be scrolled off the screen by these warnings.  So
how do I get rid of these warnings?

(Hmm.. maybe ar -x, then ar -r and then whatever magic you need to do to
create a shared library....)
