	a config option to select one of two methods?

	I'd still like to see the UNI\? naming scheme for the newer
	method as ADOS ROMS can grok these as UNIX partitions which
	would be c00l! B^).

	C= has marooned us all recently, let's put forth an effort not
	to divvy up the island in to too many pieces and factions...
