I've got it to work now, cool...

If, by any chance, anyone else do what I do, which is totally disable
the CC console, You need to or the DMAF_MASTER flag into dmacon where
the audio DMA channels are enabled.  Maybe this is a good idea anyway.
This is needed because DMAF_MASTER is only set in grfabs_cc.c which I
don't use.

PS.  I can recommend the "sox" audio conversion package to be found at
     ftp.cwi.nl:/pub/audio/sox10.tar.Z among other places.  Maybe
     there are newer versions but this suited my purposes fine.
