i'm sitting here watching a load of FreeBSD that i'm doing for a friend,
and an idea just struck me.

i assume that the various (binarydist, sourcedist) chunks are done using
something line "find {somedir} -depth -print | cpio ......".

i wonder if a sort could be stuck in there between the find and the cpio
so that the extract comes out in alphabetical order.

that way you can tell how far along the extract is coming.

just an idea.
