I just committed some major changes to pccons.  In particular, the
keyboard handling is significantly different.  This goes along with a
change to config(8) which causes splclock() to not be the same as
splhigh().

The config(8) change may also help with serial port performance on old
(8250- and 16450-based) serial boards; it had a noticable effect on my
machine, anyway.

The keyboard handling changes *may* help on machines that were unable
to grok the keyboard reset sequence before; namely, Gateways.  I don't
make any promises.
