I've just committed a large set of changes to wd.c.  In addition to some
code reorg, all reported problems have been fixed, with the possible
exception of whether or not it works on a ST506 controller.

I'd appreciate it if people could test this out and get back to me.  I'm
especially interested in whether or not it deals correctly with errors,
and whether or not it works on a crusty MFM/RLL controller.
