The UDP spec (RFC 768, near the middle of page 2) says that an incoming
UDP checksum of zero means that the transmitter did not generate a
checksum (implying that the receiver should ignore it).
I would be extremely surprised if turning on UDP checksums in a NetBSD
system causes ill effects elsewhere.
