One P.S. to the patches I posted earlier:  In order for Kermit to work
setuid to uucp under NetBSD, you need to compile it with -DSETREUID.
Last time I checked, the saved-uid feature didn't work (don't
-DSAVEDUID).  That may be the case under FreeBSD as well, let me know.
Use the commands:

make bsd44 KFLAGS=-DSETREUID
chown uucp.bin wermit
chmod u+s,go-rw wermit
cp wermit /usr/local/bin/kermit

to build and install kermit.
