Speaking of dialups...  Sometimes when dialing into the i386 (a -current
and semi-production box as well, and I am brave :) it answers and hangs
up right away.  I dial in a few times, and eventually it catches and
I log in and the connection lasts for days before I reboot one or the other.

Just one more data point.  :)
