Oh, one other thing: is anyone having problems with 'make'
   immediately returning 'Result too large' ?

I *vaguely* recall having a problem like this with mount(8) that turned
out to be the fault of the hackish way I built my libc.  I'd suggest
you remove all the .o files, make sure /usr/include is up to date, and
try again.
