I have a chance to swap out my 8-bit wd8003e's and replace them with 3c507's.
However, some things I've noticed concern me.

The main thing is that I have to configure the card for ``standard'' mode
using the DOS configuration utility.  If I set it for ``turbo'' (16-bit)
mode it doesn't work under NetBSD, but all the diagnostics under DOS pass
