   I never had problems with running multiple servers under pcvt.  This
   is with FreeBSD ~ 1.1.

Religious issues aside [Ahem.], I can't reproduce this under NetBSD,
and I have tried reasonably hard.  This would indicate to me that it's
a timing problem, and very hardware-specific.
