I'm trying to use a qic 525 MB tape, which tells me
that it is 1020 feet long. I'd like to know whether
the density I should be using is to be in Bits/Per/Inch
or in Bytes/Per/Inch
i.e.
525 * 1024 * 1024 / 1020 / 12 = Value or
525 * 1024 * 1024 * 8 / 1020 / 12 = Value.
Cheerio

PS. I'm doing the command dump 0udsf 12345 1020 /dev/rst1 /mit
