cd /usr/src/lib/libc ; make install
(with a PC532 current)

results in 
	===> libc
	install -c -o bin -g bin -m 444 libc.a  /usr/lib
	ranlib -t /usr/lib/libc.a
	ranlib: /usr/lib/libc.a: no symbol table.
	Error code 1

Yet I can still compile a new src/bin/ls/ls after, that works,

Comments ? Explanations ?
(OK it's late, I should be asleep, could it really be the Makefile 
isnt just adding a  __.SYMDEF file & if not why not ?
I don't like using make -i to punch my way onward.
