You mean it does append a '/' on a filename? Not just on directories?
I'd say it's badly broken if that's the case.

Well all the ksh-11/16/88e's I've seen don't append a '/' on a filename
expansion, but rather only on a directory name expansion done with 'ESC
ESC', and not if done with 'ESC *'. They append a ' ' on filenames
though....
