what was meant that:

say you don't install the 'share' or 'gnu' sources:

you remove 'share' and 'gnu' from /usr/src/Makefile, and you can
then build the system.


obviously, you can't rebuild the _entire_ thing from scratch if you
don't have sources to the entire thing on-line...
