This is going to happen when you start with a tape other than the
first, and the dump was split in the middle of dumping an inode. The
inode spans two tapes, and restore(8) doesn't know what to do with the
info at the beginning of the second tape.
Memory fault
This is obviously a bug. If you send me the first 1MB or so of the
second tape (the one that caused the core dump), I'll look at it.
