It can't.   Get over it!   Seriously, though, on an ethernet you don't
see this kind of corruption to an extent that matters, and on leased
lines, link-level diagnostics will turn up the problem before it bites
you on the ass.   It's only when you see error rates like this...

...that you see the occasional corrupt packet slip through the header
checksum.   Nonetheless, since a lot of us NetBSD hackers are in fact
on the other end of slip or ppp connections, a 32-bit CRC in sup would
be a big win.
