Check your kernel config file. I'll bet you have lpt0 specified as using
interrupt 7 (like it should), which the Sound Blaster traditionally uses
too. Remove the interrupt spec from lpt0 and use the interruptless driver,
it seems to work better.
My own sound driver experience: it works (without telling me the sound card
is out of paper :-), but the sound breaks up. (Sounds are clear under DOS,
so it's not cables or something silly like that.) My sound card is a Pro
Audio Spectrum 16 Basic.
