I reccommend trying to install it as "gcc2".  But no other major
issues.  I did have some trouble with overlapping versions of
"as" because I tried to build gas, also.

Speaking of C compilers, is gdb working again yet?  Last time I had
occasion to try it, it failed miserably.  (Since then, I've been
able to get a new version of Boehm's garbage collector to build on
amiga -current anyway, so I don't care.  I don't debug much these
days.)
