Uhhh.. On my A3000, this slows ftp transfers down to 100...150 K/s and
I definately _do_ worry about it. I didn't see this with the old ed
driver, so I can't understand what's happening with the new one.

The problem happens with 16 K buffer RAM. The CPU has more than 10 ms
to read the buffers before an overflow occurs. I think it _should_ be
able to do that (a 25 MHz 68030 in my case).
