Given that I work all day with Solaris 2.x, I'm stilling waiting for Sun
to come up with a viable sysv.  Sysv vendors have made a rat's nest of
the inittab/rc?.d system.  Sometimes it's level 2 for multi-user and
networking, sometimes it's level 3, just pick your favorite vendor.

I like the BSD rc.* method.  It's a no-brainer to just source files in
rc.local.
