gcc-2.7.2 has been imported into the -current tree. (This should
become visible when sup/ftp revert back to -current on this Friday.)
gcc-2.7.2 was imported into the directory src/gnu/usr.bin/gcc to allow
concurrent gcc trees. gcc2 will be removed when no more ports need it.
One note about building ... If you are still running 2.4.5 as your cc1,
you will not be able to compile libgcc. To do that, do a make up until
it fails with libgcc. It will have made gcc, cc1, cc1plus, cc1obj and
cpp. Install at least gcc (cc), cc1, and cpp. Then you can go into
libgcc and make libgcc.a. Make sure you then install the new ligbcc.a.
It has been compiled and tested on the i386, ns32k, vax, m68k (hp300)
and sparc. The only known problem other than libgcc was on the sparc port.
That problem is a mismatch between gcc-2.7.2 and include/sparc/stdarg.h.
Currently, only the vax and ns32k architectures use gcc-2.7.2 as their
default tree. Others will follow soon.
