i don't agree with blindly doing what a standard ``intended''
(lets not even debate thsi  :-) when what i would rather do,
what i consider easier to read and write is allowed by said
standard.  (the __P() macro's are a different issue and i'm
unlikely to care enough to form a real opinion on their use for
netbsd [ i will continue to use them in my own code -- for
platforms that don't have ansi c compilers ]).
