You shouldn't EVER be hacking the header lines in your sendmail.cf for
such a purpose.

1) Don't run a sendmail daemon.
2) Set the sendmail config to always queue, so mail you send just gets
   dumped in the queue.
3) When you connect with ppp, launch a sendmail -q to send off the
   mail.
