I'm doing work which will make this easier by separataing
the exec-type, emulation and the glue between them.  It'll not be
ready for a while due to other work.  You can of course attack this
yourself, but I suggest you do the other points first, as I have some
work done on this already.  Anyway, mail me, if you're seriously going
to work on this, before I have time to finish it up.  I could probably
give you some code and hints.  CAVEAT: this *is* some can of worms...
