You need to use the link0 and link1 options to ifconfig to tell the ep
driver to use the UTP port. This means, for hostname.ep0,
inet <host> <netmask> <broadcast> link0 link1
I have a 3C509 and a 3C509B in my machine, and both work most excellently.
