I suspect it's related to not recognizing VJ compression packets, but
I'm not sure.
I thought that the VJ compression code reverted to sending
uncompressed packets if a retransmit was necessary.
Anyhow, I use:
active-filter "not (udp port ntp or icmp)"
and have not had problems with the system reconnecting the link when I
do something on an idle connection.
Any chance that it didn't parse as you thought it should..
Add some parens and see if it gets better..
