This might not be exactly the right list to post this to but it is the
closest I can find.

Over the weeking I managed to blat a Seagate 1Gb disk. It used to
report to NetBSD 2099 cyl, 16 heads, 63 sec (512). It had an "overdrive
driver" on the disk that was fighting the BIOS. I dd if=/dev/zero of=/dev/wd0d
the disk and after that both to the BIOS and NetBSD it reported:
0 cyl, 63 heads, 12597 sec (512). The name/manufacturer of the drive
is not "3" (or that least that is the visible part of the name).

The drive model is ST31220A. Any ideas on how to fix or at least an
explanation would get greatly appreciated.
