A number of environment variables will also save you time:

Variable name		Action
----------------------------------------------------------------------
NOMAN			No manpages are formatted
NOPROFILE		No profiling libraries (lib*_p.a) are made
EXPORTABLE_SYSTEM	Skips src/domestic
