I tried to upgrade the kernel on my 4MB i386 machine to a March 19
one, and it hung during the device configuration process after
printing:
ed0 at isa0 port 0x300-0x31f irq 10
ed0: address 00:00:24:22:dc:f9, type NE2000 (16-bit)
The previous kernel, from March 7, would print:
ed1 at isa0 port 0x250-0x25f iomem 0xd8000-0xd9fff irq 5
ed1: address 02:60:8c:6b:15:7a, type 3c503 (8-bit) aui
after the ed0 lines. A kernel compiled without ed1 works fine...
ed0 is a Olicom 2125 16-bit NE2000 clone, and ed1 is an 8-bit 3Com
Etherlink II. Here are the lines from my kernel config file:
ed0 at isa? port 0x300 iomem 0xcc000 irq 10 # NE2000 (Olicom 2125)
ed1 at isa? port 0x250 iomem 0xd8000 irq 5 flags 1 # 3c503 (Etherlink II)
So, any ideas? :) I tried compiling a kernel with DDB and DIAGNOSTIC,
but I couldn't break into ddb, and DIAGNOSTIC didn't make it print
anything extra...
