I concur. I find /usr/local to be too confusing to be
useful. Install two versions of tcl, for instance, and you get screwed
with /usr/local/include.
Now, which one did *I* compile, and which one did I install last
month from binaries?
I try to avoid /usr/local completely, and use a custom --prefix.
I think that netbsd-ports should go in /usr/contrib. Symlink it to
/usr/local if you want it there.
