I remember that a while ago, people were seeing inexplicable reboots
when using the lpt driver.

Is anybody still running into that problem, or does anybody still have
systems around on which they can try to replicate that problem?  I
imagine that spontaneous reboots are good negative feedback, and that
people who were experiencing the problem have ceased trying to use
their parallel ports...  8-)
