I submitted a PR a few days ago, and after some more experimentation
and a rebuild of my system the perceived symptoms have changed.  I
believe the original PR may have been in error, in that something I
thought was related to the problem at hand has actually turned out to
be a red herring.  How do I go about requesting that the original PR
be closed?

The PR in question is #4002 in category port-vax.
