I had this problem, too. Starting "pppd" with "netmask 255.255.255.255"
fixed it. But yes, the possibility to add routes to interfaces would be
a nice feature.

And another thing I would like to have is the possibility to switch a
broadcast interface into point to point mode e.g. to connect two
host if you only have two single. IP adresses.
