I sort of agree.  I wouldn't mind seeing this happen... I don't
think the BSDI engineers would mind either.  But I don't see anything
that I'd consider committment to it, and honestly, I'm personally
slightly offended that they appear to have put the names of at least
one or two OS's on this, not because they've committed to the project,
but because at least one person there has expressed some interest,
or whatever...

Yeah, it's a cool idea.  I don't know what the advantage is of doing
a new one; there's a usable SVR4 ABI that would give "enough"
portability, IMHO, to foreign systems...  I mean, this is *not* a
new idea.
