>From my experience, it's fairly trivial to port audio stuff
to NetBSD. It's very similar to SunOS (or almost the same ? I've been
playing with audio about half of year ago and SunOS audio code didn't
worked for me out of box). As absolute beginner in programming audio
I've managed to make maplay work in about a hour. And it was
almost the same for splay.
What I like very much is that NetBSD audio is very well documented
and it's fairly easy to find out what to do to make things working.
I've not tried recently added libossaudio. Virtually FreeBSD/Linux
version should be even more easy to port using this.
Note all this is true for -current (or soon-to-come 1.3). NetBSD 1.2
has not had good support for audio. Lennart has done great job
enhancing it. Excellent work, Lennart !
