It stopped making funny noises, so I tried to mount a 9660 cd. No
dice:
cd0(wdc1:1): illegal request
wdc1(1): lost interrupt
wdc1(1): lost interrupt
cd0(wdc1:1): illegal request
I tried both /dev/cd0a and /dev/cd0d.
I can push the "play" button on the front of the player though. But
that is *so* lo-tek :-)
