Folks,
I am still running a pre-1.3-release current and I am planning
to update the sources. Before I did this I thought I would cut myself
a recent boot floppy so that if something goes wrong I can boot from
floppy and restore from backup. When I go into
/usr/src/distrib/i386/floppies and do a make I get:
bash# make
all ===> ramdisk
......
dd if=/dev/zero of=ramdisk.fs count=2880
2880+0 records in
2880+0 records out
1474560 bytes transferred in 1 secs (1474560 bytes/sec)
vnconfig -t floppy3 -v -c /dev/vnd0d ramdisk.fs
/dev/vnd0d: 1474560 bytes on ramdisk.fs using geometry 512/18/2/80
disklabel -rw /dev/vnd0d floppy3
newfs -m 0 -o space -i 5120 -c 80 /dev/rvnd0a floppy3
newfs: /dev/rvnd0a: open: Device not configured

Stop.

My kernel had the vnd stuff in it and I have checked the latest
sources and the makefiles have not changed so I must be doing
something wrong.....
I am running on the i386 architecture (as if you could not tell).
This is partially academic since I can (and have) fetched down the 1.3
boot floppy images but I would like to be able to build my own since I
have a wt0 in my system that would be nice to have accessible from a
floppy boot which is something that cannot be provided in the standard
dist floppies for very good reasons....
