Actually, my practice of always building snapshots seems to have helped me;
I have a complete sun3 snapshot from 6/10 that I'm rebuilding on now. It just
takes so long to do a complete rebuild (3 days) that I was hoping (and trying)
to avoid it. This particular mess simply requires one step back, and two or
three steps forward, alas...
