Hey, has anyone considered making a repository for all the pkgsrc
distributions available via HTTP? I've had problems doing FTP through my
firewall, and this is the only thing that is affected that I really care
about. I'd be glad to do it. I'll offer a 100Mbps internet connection
for the cause assuming I can convince The People that it's cool (shouldn't
be a problem). I can fairly easily do a sup scan and grab all the
distributions nightly, then make it available via http, but how difficult
would it be to have that be a fallback for the distribution stuff?
Yeah, the passive stuff works for me, but only after I found it,
etc... I think it'd be nice for a known fall-back repository that stays
as up-to-date as pkgsrc available via HTTP to exist.
Anyway, my attempt to contribute to the cause.
