Now that you mention is, my machine did this also. During a normal
boot process, the loader prints out some numbers showing the different
sizes of the different parts of the kernel. In my case, the -current
floppies showed numbers something like this:
1400000+1670000+[10000+15000]+6500000000read strings
immediately followed by a reboot.
I'm not really sure what format the end of that line of number should
be (it is wiped by the reboot too quickly), but I do know that the
number that corresponds to the symbol table was *huge*. On the order
of 6GB, give or take a few zeros.
