Don't know how friendly they are, but if you want to boot from them,
e.g. a SCSI-hostadapter, you need a OpenBoot BIOS installed on the
card. This is at least true for solaris, but I think this will be
neccessary for any OS, as the boot prom needs to talk to the device
to load the first stage boot block.
