Thanks.  No problem now that I understand things.  It works after 
I turned that flag on in the BIOS.  Sorry my message wasn't clearer. 

I'd suggest adding that clump of code to the Tulip and DEFPA drivers 
when it is convenient.  I doubt if I'm the only one who who will 
run NetBSD on a PC without knowing their way around the BIOS.

Or maybe it should get ripped out of other drivers so that everybody 
learns about this quirk?  :)
